Since I am preparing a series of videos called “How to choose a portative organ?”, I thought it would be a good idea to discuss the basic fundamentals of portative organs. I have therefore made this video about the importance of the weight of a portative organ in order to make it “portable”.

The weight of the instrument is not only important in determining if it could be considered a real “portative” organ, but is also an important consideration in terms of our physical health as performers.

If you want to know more about this series of videos you can watch the first video of the series which explains my reasons for creating these short videos.

Although they will cover many topics, your questions about portative organs are welcome and I will be happy to address them in the coming videos.

Enjoy the video!
